Jan Swift is known for her participation in numerous one-woman shows and group shows in the tri-county area. Her award-winning watercolors include a variety of subject matter, including florals, architectural settings, landscapes, and still-life, as well as what she describes as “fun paintings” of chickens, roosters, and fish.
Jan was an art teacher throughout most of her life. She taught in Frelinghuysen and Fredon in NJ, and also served as Chairman of Jr/Sr High Art Department in Bristol Township, and later as Elementary Art Coordinator for all 11 elementary schools. She has won numerous awards for her work and is represented in several private and corporate collections. She considers watercolor to be a particularly exciting medium, “especially when happenings occur.”
