Misty Roan Mott has studied many aspects of art including fabric design, silk screening, printing, Shibori, indigo and dyeing, fiber arts and sculpture, blacksmithing, jewelry making, pottery, woodworking, glass blowing, drawing, painting, and photography and has attended classes in various media at Peters Valley Craft Center in NJ, Horizons in MA, and Penland School of Crafts in NC.
Misty’s inspiration for her jewelry and photography come from the everyday world around her. Her interests in animals, horses, and nature are seen repeatedly in her work. She is a firm believer in simplicity and often uses analogous colors.
Misty is a native of Blairstown, NJ and has been a member of Gallery 23 since 2002.
